  Enquired about closing my account at HSBC on 18th January. They gave me all sorts of conflicting instructions, hurdle after hurdle. After going through all their hoops, new ones would appear. It took them about two weeks to arrange a "verification call", after which I was told that I would receive the money within 5 working days. That was on the 4th March! They have now washed their hands of it as it is with their "correspondent bank" - this was never even mentioned before. I have answered the correspondent bank's questions the week before last but still have not received the funds. It's now been two-and-a-half months and they have not been able to complete a basic transaction. This is a disgrace and I still don’t know (and they won't tell me anymore) when I will ever see the colour of my money. NEVER DEAL WITH HSBC!!!
